Lebanon

Lebanon is a small West Asian state that has been the scene of a civil war and several armed clashes with Israel in recent decades. The territory is quite varied, ranging from the narrow coastal strip on the Mediterranean to the Lebanon chain in the center of the country that reaches 3,000 meters high, up to the hilly areas and valleys towards the eastern border with Syria; almost half of the population lives in the area of the capital Beirut.
